My birthday was this week. I'm 19.
I went out to eat with a friend from my dojo the night before my birthday, went out to eat with my parents and a friend the day of my birthday, went home to a surprise party from my roommates, went to the green belt test at my dojo and a celebration later on the day after my birthday, and hung out with some of my classmates from school that night.
Man...I think that this has been like my best birthday. Like fucking EVER.
My roommates are amazing.

Update.
Been a while since I posted any writing, so just an update...
I've been stuck in a bit of a rut recently. A close friend of mine passed away in January, and since then it's been hard for me to produce any writing that I feel comfortable sharing here. But I've been writing.
I have a couple of short stories that I've written and am currently in the process of editing: a suspense/horror story called "Drowning" and a contemporary drama called "Early Bird".

Censorship
I am openly anti-censorship. As a writer, I have submitted stories to webzines, magazines, newsletters, collections, etc. only to be told that my subject matter is "too mature" or that certain aspects of my stories "should not appear in [publicly-available] magazines." The "subject matter" I refer to here is usually not high on the smut and gore scale, in fact it may not be there at all. In one story that was rejected from a magazine I was told that it was rejected because the female protagonist makes allusions to masturbation. Happy b-day Meredith! And what's the blue stuff you're drinking? (What does "blue" taste like anyway to someone who doesn't have synesthesia? Apparently it tastes like something because it's often used as a flavor for soda like Mountain Dew.)
